Giving Back at Kiwoko Hospital
Back where it all began, on the 8th of May 2026, we visited Kiwoko Hospital to distribute maternity hampers to vulnerable mothers and their new born babies. These packs included essential items such as nappies, hats, clothes, soap and sugar all generously gifted from Gilbert Bain Hospital in Shetland, where John and Olivia live and from other members of the charity. This project also provided hampers to the Neonatal Intensive care unit. A total of 67 hampers were delivered and 2 educational sessions were carried out helping the mothers understand about preventing malaria and breastfeeding. This couldn't have happened without the 30 amazing team members and 5 volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event such a success.

Blessed to Bless
I never imagined that the eve of this outreach would leave such a profound impact on me. As I filled hampers for the mothers, I realized that items we often take for granted—like a bar of soap or a hat for a baby—hold immense significance for them. Witnessing the joy as I handed the hamper over that feeling never leaves you and I thank God that I managed to bless these mothers

Small things bring joy
Being a mother is a profound blessing from God. I’ve come to understand that every mother deserves something special for their newborn. I was fortunate to receive baby hats and clothes from my work mates in the Maternity department at Gilbert Bain Hospital. While it may have seemed like a small gift to them, it brought immense joy to the mothers at Kiwoko Hospital in Uganda. Witnessing the smiles on their faces and hearing their heartfelt gratitude made me incredibly emotional.
